Monday Blues~

So here I am, sitting in IS class. Class should have started by now, but apparently my tutor is caught in some jam due to traffic accident @_@. I wonder about that, but let's give her the benefit of doubt.

Jamming was awesome yesterday. I'm feeling home on the kit now. I wouldn't say I'm good now, but I came a long way to where I am today. Still remember the start of 2008 when I first started playing drums. I picked up a pair of drumsticks and just started imitating the video on youtube with an imaginary drum kit in front of me.

My first jamming session with Bong, JJ, and Ryan at Ebenex. It was damn funny actually. Epic fail actually. The first song that I played successfully with Bong was Won't Go Home Without You by Maroon 5. In fact, I still have the recording of it. Fucking funny if you ask me.

The way I started was like, as soon as I knew how the drumset looked like, I wanted to play in a band, and I had my first jamming session after barely a week. I could barely keep time or whatever. In fact, my timing was all over the place. I couldn't even hear what the others were playing.

This on and off shit just stayed that way for the whole year, with a bit of practice on VS's crappy drumset. Then Bong's A Levels came. I realise I needed to find new bandmates with jam with. I posted a notice on Soft, and one day I got a message from Aaron. Haha YEAP! I went to jam with them that night. I got slapped straight in the face on what I was lacking in as a drummer.

Aaron's a good drummer, and he gave me good advice, which actually played a very big part in my improvement over the past few months. I left the band due to some reasons after a very short while due to some reasons, and Aaron played drums instead. They formed Visibility Zero, though I didn't go to their first gig, but I'm sure it's eff-ing awesome.

So here I am now, playing with a regular band, and maybe I'll play my first gig in July or August. When people ask me how I learn drums, it's always fun to tell them, that I play air drums. Their reactions never cease to amuse me.

The Killers - Read My Mind

On the corner of main street
Just tryin' to keep it in line
You say you wanna move on and
You say I'm falling behind

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

I never really gave up on
Breakin' out of this two-star town
I got the green light
I got a little fight
I'm gonna turn this thing around

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The good old days, the honest man;
The restless heart, the Promised Land
A subtle kiss that no one sees;
A broken wrist and a big trapeze

Oh well I don't mind, if you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you go, can you read my mind?

It’s funny how you just break down
Waitin' on some sign
I pull up to the front of your driveway
With magic soakin' my spine

Can you read my mind?
Can you read my mind?

The teenage queen, the loaded gun;
The drop dead dream, the Chosen One
A southern drawl, a world unseen;
A city wall and a trampoline

Oh well I don't mind, if you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine
Before you jump
Tell me what you find?
When you read my mind?

Slippin’ in my faith until I fall
You never returned that call
Woman, open the door, don't let it sting
I wanna breathe that fire again
She said
I don't mind, if you don't mind
Cause I don't shine if you don't shine

Put your back on me
Put your back on me
Put your back on me

The stars are blazing like rebel diamonds cut out of the sun
When you read my mind
