James Hetfield
So in IS class today, we were supposed to discuss on media and it's effect on us.
I decided to share about James Hetfield. The first response I got from everyone was, 'Who's that?'
And my tutor threw me a skeptical look
James fucking Hetfield, one of the best metal riff writer and song writer that existed on the metal scene, and you ask me who he is?
Well this is Hetfield

Well over 40 (or 50), and still rocking his balls off. He stays true to what he says, and what he plays. His dream at 17/18, was to be in the best Metal band. And here he is, he did it. With Metallica.
Fade to Black
Life it seems will fade away
Drifting further everyday
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free
Things not what they used to be Missing one inside of me
Deadly loss this cant be real
Cannot stand this hell i feel
Emptiness is filling me To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me but now, hes gone
No one but me can save myself, but its too late
Now i cant think, think why i should even try
Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm, now i will just say goodbye
Goodbye
Just this song alone, with that riff and the intro of this song, shows how great of a writer he is. The only sad thing is that his vocals is not as good as it used to be; damaged his vocal cords.
If you're interested, do yourself a favour, go to youtube, search for performance of 'Fade to Black', 'Seek and Destroy', 'Enter Sandman', 'Hit The Lights' and 'Whiplash'. They are sure to give you a head banging good time. But you know what is one of the most awesome thing? He wrote 'Blackened', a song about pollution, and saving the Earth, back in 1980s, way ahead of everyone, way before anyone even thought it was a problem. He said it, through his songs.
One of my favourite quote from him, 'Regret, it's a screwed up word'
To all those that still believe in Rock 'n Roll, stay true, and peace. Bless you.
